Description & Vitals
Nora Treinor is 5' 8" tall and weighs around 165 lbs. She is lean but still muscular and toned, as she is accustomed to and enjoys manual labor and tackling the city on foot. She typically has medium-length brunette hair tied back in a pony tail. She has distinctively glowing, orange eyes, though they were previously bright and blue. She is covered in skull and bone-themed tattoos, and has a noticeable knife scar across the base of her throat.
Nora is typically extremely friendly, full of conversation topic, bad jokes, and anecdotes. She tries to give everyone she meets the benefit of the doubt, which has led her into some dangerous situations in the past. She does not like violence and avoids it even in a joking manner.
However, when stressed, or when somebody she cares about is threatened, Nora's demeanor quickly shifts to one of chaotic aggression and a near-desire to engage in violence.
For the most part, Nora tries to conduct herself within the limits of the law, but as time has progressed she's become more willing to push the boundaries of the law or ignore it outright if the situation calls for it.
Nora is attracted to flames and all other manner of fire, and her favorite color is orange. She is beyond terrified of the open ocean, even just swimming slightly off shore causes her to panic.
Origins
Nora moved to Los Santos from a small country town somewhere outside of Liberty City. Her father's parents moved to Los Santos from Liberty City, and her grandpa ran a Pizza This location in North Vinewood where she used to deliver pizzas on his moped over the summer.
Because Nora's parents did not react positively when Nora came out as transgender, she eventually realized it was time to move to Los Santos permanently and try her hand at photography and fine art.
Nora moved into a room at the Little Seoul mall's hotel and began establishing a foothold within the city. She learned quickly to perform odd jobs for the local citizens of the city, eventually saving up to buy her first vehicle, a Shitzu Vader. She also began gathering equipment to start her photography business.
Bench Bois
Within the first week of living in the city, Nora stumbled upon an eclectic gathering of individuals who had set up a hangout spot on the steps of the Little Seoul mall. This group of loosely-affiliated people referred to themselves as the Bench Bois (the 'i' in 'Bois' stands for inclusive, because it's not just boys.) Having not made any friendly connections thus far, Nora gravitated toward their chaotic but good-hearted nature, and quickly found herself spending time at the Bench every night. Of particular importance to Nora were Spooky Larry, Dylan Duntrune, Dia Mond, Allan Zarnak, and Jebediah Laurel-Nivoun, with whom she very quickly formed a bond. She also found herself running around frequently with Mabel Appleberry, a southern woman who had moved to Los Santos to restart her bakery business and set up a new place to live on Mt. Chilliad that she referred to as New New Orleans.
Meeting Ty Grant
Also during Nora's first week in the city, she stopped by the Burgershot in the Little Seoul mall to buy food for her daily errands. Working the counter on that particular day was Ty Grant, whom immediately made an impact on Nora with his forward and bewildering questions.
After a violent encounter resulted in Nora being shot by the Blocks at the Bench, she decided to move away from the city for at least three days to camp and hunt in the woods. If at the end of those three days she didn't miss the city, she would pack up and move back home, presuming she was not cut out for the city. However, when she returned to the city, she ran into Ty again, and they exchanged numbers. Something told her to stay and explore her fascination with him.
Over the next couple of weeks, they would hang out for short periods each day. Nora was extremely nervous hanging out with Ty at first, as he often engaged in criminal activity, but Nora learned quickly when to dip and exit situations to avoid any problems.
One weekend, Nora and Ty found themselves hanging out nearly non-stop for two days, at the end of which an incident occurred at the Paleto recycling facility: Ty Grant was kidnapped by a group of people who wanted hostages in order to threaten MRPD. Nora, not having a vehicle with her that could catch up, stole a car for the first time in her life and sped all the way back to the city in pursuit, eventually locating a police officer she could speak to. When asked what her relation was to Ty Grant, the hostage, Nora blurted out "he's my boyfriend". Upon being rescued from his kidnappers, Ty learned what Nora had said, and began referring to her as his girlfriend. They have been inseparable ever since.
Many of Nora's friends did not understand her love for Ty at first, as from the outside they appeared to be complete opposites. But around Ty, Nora was able to be her most authentic self, full of silliness, chaos, and nonsense. Over time, people have come to understand and accept them as a couple, and Ty has pushed Nora to overcome many of her fears and anxieties while living in the city.
Revival By Fire
In a car with several others after departing from the Bench at Little Seoul mall, Nora was involved in an extremely destructive and explosive collision. Nora was left broken and burned on the sidewalk nearby, barely clinging to life. As her vision began to fade, a skeletal motorcycle appeared, with the masked rider asking Nora if she wanted to live. When Nora said she wanted help, the rider took her to a circular garden area before levitating her into the air, enveloping her body in flames, and fully restoring her vitality.
Ever since that strange and delirious experience, Nora has felt less afraid of death, a growing belief in her mind that she may be unable to die, though whether this belief is founded in anything or simply the early warning signs of a psychotic break is yet to be seen. In the meantime, she still avoids dangerous situations, if for no other reason than to avoid the associated pain.
Spooky Larry's Death
One night, after Nora and Larry had spoken on the phone about some mundane gig-related topics, Nora made her way back into her hotel room within the Little Seoul mall hotel. By the time she woke up several hours later, Larry had been shot and killed by a member of BCSTow. The loss of such a crucial figure and inspiration in her life destabilized Nora's already teetering mental state, and thinking about how she would handle the loss of Ty Grant, she resolved to never let that happen. This was the turning point at which Nora began learning to defend herself, learning to drive better, faster, and more boldly. She learned to take charge, learned more about the criminal elements of the city so that she could be more equipped to protect the people she loved.
Nora spoke at Larry's funeral on Mt. Chilliad, and she has always made time to sit on the steps of the mall and talk to him several times a week. She continues to emulate his giving and gracious attitude by helping people however she can, even if she doesn't know them, whether that is with money, food, advice, or a ride.
Aphrodite & the Phoenix
The night of Spooky Larry's funeral, Nora was exiting the Little Seoul mall's front doors after the funeral had ended. Having just passed by one of her friends introducing herself to a new person, Nora soon heard the sound of a blade stabbing into flesh and cries of pain behind her. When she turned around, her friend was bleeding on the floor, and the new person was gone.
Shortly thereafter, while crying in the middle of the street in a semi-intoxicated state, Nora learned that the new person had been none other than the serial killer, Aphrodite, who had been stalking and tormenting people at the mall for weeks.
She then spoke with Kato Seijuro, the leader of the Black Dragons and friend of the Bench, about what had happened. Kato let Nora know that he was personally investigating Aphrodite and had made it his mission to kill her before she hurt anyone else. Nora volunteered to help, and soon she found herself assisting Kato as he held a man at gunpoint. Eventually, they took the man to a beach, where Kato took his belongings and told him that "the Dragon, the Captain, and... uhhhhh, the Phoenix did this to you!"
Upon returning to the hotel, Kato informed Nora that the robbed man was unrelated to the Aphrodite incident, and that the name Phoenix had only come to him at random.
The Phoenix (Car)
Within days of the Aphrodite incident at the mall, Nora found herself in the southside of Los Santos doing freelance work. For no particular reason, she visited Hayes Auto dealership for the first time ever, and on that particular day, Nora found the car that would become her signature and her identity: a Phoenix, by Imponte.
Nora immediately painted the car orange and had orange underlighting installed, which would eventually become her entire aesthetic. Over the following months, Nora would slowly upgrade the car, and eventually she began to push her to perform time trial races, again believing that the more capable and fearless she could become, the better she could protect the people she loved.
In addition, as the side of Nora's personality she referred to as "The Phoenix" began to emerge, she discovered that one of the best ways she could exorcise her anger and stress was to drive the Phoenix as fast as possible in perilous situations, further pushing her belief in her own immortality.
Meeting Noodle Cadoodle
One morning, as Nora and Ty prepared to depart from the Little Seoul mall's underground garage, they ran into a woman by the name of Noodle Cadoodle, whom Nora recognized from LifeInvader. The three of them agreed to work together for the morning, and from that point forward Nora and Noodle would begin to spend time together more and more frequently.
Noodle and Nora discovered that they shared much in common, and where Ty often pushed Nora into situations that frightened her and put her at risk of legal trouble, Noodle acted as a calm, stabilizing force in her life. This theme of balancing the calming forces of her partners versus the chaotic influence of Ty would carry on and build up in the coming months.
While running as lieutenant governor with Lucy Webb, Noodle became the victim of political corruption by the sheriff, who was friends with the at-the-time governor. Being charged as a felon, she lost her weapon licenses, and was no longer permitted to run, thus ending she and Lucy's campaign.
Several days later, Noodle suffered from a nearly fatal fall off the mall balcony, injuring her brain and ending up in the ICU. Nora slept at the hospital and refused to leave her side until she woke up, starting to realize that Noodle meant more to her than just being a friend.
Ellie Solis, First Blood
During a typical day at the Little Seoul mall, Nora was hanging out with some of her closest friends: Noodle, Daniella, Riley, etc. when a shy, scared woman approached their collective group. She stated that she was new to the city and didn't know where anything was or how to make money. Nora, forever holding the tennets of the Bench Bois close to her heart, immediately lept to her aid. She showed her around the major parts of the city, helped her start making money freelancing, offered her food and money to keep her going for a while, and so on.
During a particular freelance gig, Nora found herself alone with the woman–who had thus far only referred to herself as "Ellie"–on Vespucci beach. Nearing the end of their current gig, Ellie approached Nora atop the beach's restroom facility roof, and offered her a token of gratitude... which turned out to be a switch blade knife to Nora's throat.
As Nora lay on top of the building bleeding out, Ellie cackled with gruesome delight at the idea of watching her bleed out on the beach, before ripping out a chunk of her hair and leaving her to die.
Nora survived, thinking at the time she was just lucky but not realizing that the fire inside had prevented her death yet again. However, she forever onward bore a horrific scar across her throat, and while she herself may have lived through the attack, her inherent trust of other humans did not. From that day onward, she would see every new person a potential threat, not to be trusted.
