Uncommon Treatises
This page will always contain my latest one-off posts in descending order from newest to oldest. You can check here any time to see what I've been saying lately. However, you can also add my feed to your preferred RSS reader using the link listed at the bottom of this website.

Hello there! Taking the time to drop a post because I want to stay in the habit of writing things here on a somewhat consistent basis and not let months (...or years) pass by without any updates on my end. So, with that having been said, here's what's been up with me!
I've hit a rough patch the past few weeks. I can't specifically point to any one thing as the cause, but I've been very low-energy and unmotivated to work on projects, create things, etc. However, I suspect I will be turning the corner on this soon, since I have not allowed any of my more self-destructive habits to emerge during this periodic trough.
As far as this website goes, it is nearly finished. I have been working on my "About" page, which has more or less turned into an auto-biography. That wasn't my goal when I started writing it, but I've grown fond of the concept. However, that has extended the completion timeline quite a bit. Once that is finished, I will return to migrating cybersecurity articles, and that will conclude archival work and buildout of the basic site. Additional features such as self-hosted email and possibly IRC will be next up on the list.
Outside of this website, I've gotten into Grand Theft Auto roleplay via FiveM (specifically PurpleRP). I've only started a week ago, but it has been a tremendous source of joy and a great way to center myself when I'm not feeling great, and it forces me to communicate with people on a more interactive level than simply exchanging DMs and infinitely refreshing Discord channels waiting for something to happen. The fact that all interaction must take place within the game is a huge benefit because it means if I want to know how things are going, I have to sign in and use my ears and mouth to communicate with people in real time.
That's really all I have to say for now. Didn't want to reach the three week mark for this gap, and I'm glad I took the time to write this.
I'll update you all again soon enough.
Be well!

While I am sitting here with my morning coffee listening to the sounds of the town coming to life–the car engines kicking in, the trains rumbling by, the distant, haunting sounds of sirens–I'm struggling through some thoughts.
A big part of this blog move has been taking 15 years of fragments and pulling them together into one place so I can never lose them again. A side effect of this effort is mulling over all the things I've lost along the way... and beyond things, the people I've lost.
And I truly mean lost. I do not know where they are anymore. Either they were part of social platforms they never wanted to leave that I have left behind, or they were in Discord servers I've left and lost all mutual contact with. Some have simply gone dark.
I worry about them. Some more than others, but all of them to at least some degree. I think about tracking them down. I could certainly do so in a few cases. But should I? Would me intruding into their lives after such an absence do either of us any good?
This is something I struggle with. The idea that I can't hold on to everyone I've ever met indefinitely. That we only really stay close to a small handful of people until we reach our ends.
I think I should value each interaction I have with everyone more, stop treating each relationship as some eternal well I can return to whenever I desire.
That's it. If you're somebody I know, and you're reading this, I treasure you. I hope we get to spend many years together, but if we don't, know that I have and will continue to treasure the time we do spend with each other.

Oh wow! This website is finally live! What started as a nascent notion in late September of 2024 cooled off during the depression of the next six months, but is now warm and alive and thriving!
Anyway, I am just making this post, in truth, to test out the posting and feed function of my site–but also to let anyone know that is visiting that the site is still under active development. There are two major phases remaining until I consider this site to have reached full 1.0 status:
1. Content migration - I am still migrating content from all of my old blogs, social media presences, etc. This will take several weeks if not a couple of months, so bear with me.
2. Website polish - While I am endeavoring to make smart decisions while creating this website, I am also trying to make parts of it live as soon as they are finished. Naturally, this means some lessons will be learned and some afterthoughts will need to be pondered, so I will very likely need to make some broad changes to the underlying mechanisms of both the site itself and the hosting server once the content migration has been completed.
I will keep everyone updated on progress here, though I won't post as frequently to start because I'll be busy fleshing out the site.
Keep your eyes open for updates to this page... including an RSS feed feature that I am hoping to add during the upcoming weekend.
Bye for now!
